Our warranty is for pre-finished flooring only and is an honorable, real world, limited residential warranty for residential use by a home owner at the property in which they themselves reside. A printout of the manufacturer's warranty is provided with the flooring when it is shipped to fulfill any residential order.
~ Solid pre-finished flooring:
25 years for the finish only.
~ Engineered pre-finished flooring:
15 year surface warranty and 25 year structural integrity warranty.
In the unlikely event that you would need to activate this warranty, our supplying manufacturer's team would inspect the floor and make recommendations from there.
Provided the wood is acclimated and installed according to American National Wood Flooring Association guidelines it should be able to expand and contract in its climatic environment within tolerances that are acceptable in a wood floor. The bottom line is that any wood floor responds to its environment throughout the seasons and installation has everything to do wth its behavior in the environment where it is installed. Cupping, certain types of cracking, and some "checking" are not covered by warranty as these are typically the result of elements beyond our control, specifically installation or environmental factors where the wood is installed.
Prior to installation, the owner/installer must determine that the job site and all sub surfaces meet all requirements of the NWFA guidelines and in the summary of instructions provided with the warranty, including being dust and moisture free. A moisture meter is the installer's best friend. It is important to ensure that the environment in which the flooring is to be installed is within a stable temperature and humidity rang, prior to installation and for the life of the floor. In addition, the owner/installer has the responsibility to make the final inspection as to grade, manufacture and finish of our Australian Cypress flooring. Once a board has been installed, it is deemed accepted by the owner/installer and he/she expressly waives any claims pertaining to the grade or manufacture of the delivered product.
Altering the factory finish, e.g. sanding, staining, adding extra varnish, oiling etc. voids the warranty as these can all affect the integrity of the factory finish. If you intend to alter the color or the finish of the flooring, consider purchasing unfinished flooring.
Care should be taken to protect the installed flooring in high traffic areas such as doorways. Put mats in entrances and felts or protectors under the feet of furniture. Ensure that your Australian Cypress floor is not flooded or subject to excess water or water leaks, and that dishwashers and other appliances do not leak onto the flooring. Water damage caused by conditions within the site during and after installation, and marks and scratches caused by but not limited to e.g. furniture, dropping items, sand, exposed metal in stiletto heels, and dogs' toe nails etc. are not covered by warranty.
Color can vary from creamy to golden with strong figuration in the grain. Excessive exposure to strong light, especially sunlight or lights with high UV content, can darken the wood to a deep golden color over time. The colors of the Australian Cypress illustrated on this site vary according to the ambient light at the time that the photos were taken and the age of the wood. Variations in color are a natural attribute of new Australian Cypress wood and are not covered by warranty. Changes in color over time are also not covered by warranty as these are a matter of post-installation environmental factors under the sole control of the purchaser/ homeowner.
Wear and Tear: With a Janka hardness rating of 1375, Australian Cypress wood is a little harder than American White Oak (hardness 1360), American Red Oak (hardness 1290), and Teak (hardness 1155). However, it is not the hardest wood out there. Although the top coats of aluminum oxide hardener certainly give our pre-finished flooring more durability, to get a realistic sense of the performance of pre-finished Australian Cypress flooring over time, it is suggested that you take a look at residential American Oak floors with varying years of wear and tear. If you are expecting that Australian Cypress flooring will be totally dent and scratch free after years of human and pet traffic, that is unrealistic and you might like to consider other much harder Australian hardwood flooring species.
Non-residential use : Use of our pre-finished flooring in industrial and commercial premises such as restaurants, retail stores, offices, hotels, motels, rental properties and other non-residential use is not covered by the limited residential warranty.

A note about Unfinished Wood Products: Many factors can affect the performance of unfinished wood products once they are under the control of the purchaser. Such factors include but are not limited to humidity, wide temperature and humidity fluctuations, failure to properly seal the product, improper installation, improper acclimation, and improperly finishing the product. Since such environmental and installation factors are totally beyond our control, there is no warranty on unfinished wood products.
